Accepting New Clients
Hi, I’m Nate!
Both in and outside of the therapy room, I believe in our deep human need to be seen, heard, and known. When we experience this in the places of our deepest hurts, struggles, or longings, it can be a powerful thing.
I strive for our work together to be a space where you can feel this kind of support and connection, and find what you need to live more fully.
Together, we can determine the direction of therapy based on your needs, hopes, and goals.
If you’re not sure what those are for you, that’s okay. Our work together will be collaborative and creative, as we explore your life experience in a way that honors your journey, including your here-and-now.
Who I Work With
While every one of us faces unique challenges throughout our lives, I believe every person has the capacity to grow and heal in ways that can lead to greater authenticity, courage, and connection. In counseling, I focus on working with individuals navigating complicated shifts in who they are, what they believe, and what their life can be.
I bring a unique combination of perspective, empathy, and life experiences into the room, and I see it as a true privilege to witness and support the stories of those I work alongside.
You might be navigating a life change, spiritual uncertainty, identity shifts, or just feeling the need for more connection and clarity. Whether you’ve been in therapy before or this is your first time, we’ll take it one step at a time, with compassion and intention.
How We’ll Work Together
I know that asking for help or taking the first step can be difficult. You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin. If you’re feeling drawn toward change and growth, I’d be honored to connect with you and explore it together.
Our sessions will be shaped by curiosity, honesty, and flexibility. I aim to meet you exactly where you are, and create a space that welcomes whatever you’re holding. Whether that’s big questions, quiet grief, or tentative hope.
A Bit About Me
While I grew up in Pennsylvania, Chicago has my heart and has become my home. My own background includes a variety of experiences: from work as a professional caregiver to a full-time creative, and from professional involvement in religious and interfaith spaces to LGBTQIA+ community support. Together, I believe that all of these broaden and enrich my ability to meet others where they are with empathy, awareness, and curiosity.
I also enjoy biking around the city, coffee with friends, dusty antique stores, trying new recipes, hiking and camping, and searching for Chicago’s best cinnamon roll! Some of my deepest-held values include community and authenticity, and these shape my life in and out of the therapy room.
Education & Training
I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Colorado – Denver, and my learning has centered counseling individuals from a variety of cultural backgrounds and identities. I also hold a Master of Divinity degree from Azusa Pacific University, and have professional experience in faith-based and interfaith spaces.
